Hi guys this is the information about nipah virus

Nipah virus (NiV) was first discovered in 1999 following an outbreak of disease in pigs and people in Malaysia and Singapore. This outbreak resulted in nearly 300 human cases and more than 100 deaths, and caused substantial economic impact as more than 1 million pigs were killed to help control the outbreak.
The virus was isolated and identified in 1999. The disease is named after a village in Malaysia, Sungai Nipah. Pigs may also be infected, and millions were killed by Malaysian authorities in 1999 to stop the spread of disease, a measure which proved to be successful.

Symptoms of nipah virus
Illness with Nipah virus begins with fever and headache followed by inflammation of the brain (encephalitis), drowsiness and disorientation characterized by mental confusion. About half of cases also experience respiratory symptoms early on. These signs and symptoms can progress to coma within 24 to 48 hours.
Prevention of nipah virus
Practice handwashing regularly with soap and water. Avoid contact with sick bats or pigs. Avoid areas where bats are known to roost. Avoid consumption of raw date palm sap.
Nipah treated and prevent
Nipah virus infection can be prevented by avoiding exposure to sick pigs and bats in areas where the virus is present, and not drinking raw date palm sap which can be contaminated by an infected bat. During an outbreak, standard infection control practices can help prevent person-to-person spread in hospital settings.
How to stop it?
While the treatment for encephalitis involves simple care such as providing glucose and ensuring a meal at night for the patient, Nipah has no known vaccine or cure. Protection, if any, comes from the person’s own immunity and a clampdown on the spread of the virus.
